The Russian army does not strike civilian targets in the area of special operations, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, at a briefing.
The Kremlin representative commented on Ukraine's statements that Russian fighter jets had carried out an airstrike on the Belenkovskaya correctional facility in the Zaporizhia region, killing 17 people.
"The Russian army does not strike civilian targets. Strikes are being carried out on military and paramilitary infrastructure," Peskov stressed.
