"Trump's threats cannot contribute to the normalization of Russian-American relations" - Zakharova
![]() 808 Wednesday, 30 July, 2025, 17:15 US President Donald Trump's threats against Russia cannot contribute to the normalization of relations between Moscow and Washington. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. "No threat, regardless of who makes it, can have a positive impact on the normalization process. This is just a theoretical answer to a practical question. Theoretical, because it is a law of nature," Zakharova said, noting that the language of threats is incompatible with the normalization of relations. According to Zakharova, the Russian presidential administration has already responded to Trump's words. "It was announced that our country has taken Washington's statement into account," Zakharova reminded. The US president had announced that he would give Russia and Ukraine 50 days to reach an agreement, after which he intends to impose 100 percent tariffs on Moscow and its trading partners. On Monday, Trump announced that he was disappointed with Russia and the lack of progress in the settlement process, so he was reducing the deadline to 10-12 days. |
