Orban։ "EU statement on Ukraine is an attempt to dictate terms to Putin and Trump"

Hungary did not support the EU statement on Ukraine because they were trying to dictate conditions to Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, who will hold a summit without the participation of Europeans, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said.
Earlier, Hungary did not join the EU leaders’ statement on Ukraine, in which EU members pledged to continue providing military and diplomatic support to Kiev, as well as to apply restrictive measures against Russia.
“Before the European liberal choir starts singing about ‘Putin’s puppet’ (Orbán) again, I would like to share why I could not support this statement on behalf of Hungary. The statement is trying to set conditions for negotiations to which EU leaders were not even invited. It is sad in itself that the EU has been left out of the game. The only thing worse than that would be giving orders from the spare benches”, Orbán wrote on his Facebook page.
