Russian and Ukrainian prisoners of war exchanged through UAE mediation

The Russian side has returned 84 servicemen from the territory of Ukraine in exchange for the same number of servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

“Currently, the Russian servicemen are in the territory of the Republic of Belarus, where they are receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance,” the statement said.

As the department noted, the Russian servicemen will be transferred to the Russian Federation for rehabilitation treatment.

“The United Arab Emirates has shown humanitarian mediation efforts in the return of the Russian servicemen from captivity,” the ministry emphasized.
