Europe should not overestimate itself in the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, and the United States will play a decisive role in this process. This was announced by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Negotiations with the participation of Europe have already begun. They will continue on Monday. But we should not overestimate the role of Europe. This was stated by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in an interview with ZDF, adding that “European unity is important.”

According to the Chancellor, the United States of America will play a decisive role in the Ukrainian conflict.

Recall that after the Russian-American summit in Alaska, US President Donald Trump had several telephone conversations with NATO leaders, after a long conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky. Immediately after Trump’s call, an emergency meeting of ambassadors of the 27 EU countries was convened in Brussels.
