German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that achieving peace in Ukraine requires patience and stressed that it will be a very difficult task.
“No one should say today that we are only discussing arms supplies,” Merz said, noting that “everyone should understand how difficult it will be to resolve this issue in weeks or even months.”
“We have taken the first steps,” Merz said.
“But let me make a comparison: we are in a 10-kilometer section and, perhaps, we have passed the first 200 meters,” he added.
