Fidan calls for Israel to be expelled from the UN General Assembly
![]() 379 Monday, 25 August, 2025, 15:12 Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called for Israel’s suspension from the UN General Assembly at an extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the situation in Gaza in Jeddah, TASS reports. “If a ceasefire is not achieved soon, Israel will continue its occupation programs and increase its crimes. We must unite our efforts to maintain and expand international recognition, raise the issue of Palestine’s full membership in the UN, and at the same time advance the initiative to expel Israel from the General Assembly,” Fidan said. “Israel’s aggression is not limited to Palestine. The frequent illegal attacks by the regime of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Syria, Lebanon, and Iran reveal broader and more dangerous plans to destabilize our region. "If this reckless path is not stopped, it will endanger the Middle East and other regions," Fidan noted. |
