Trump: I think we are now closer than ever to peace in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump held a phone call with European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday 15 December following the talks in Berlin. Trump said during a press conference in the Oval Office.
Trump is confident that participants in the peace process have moved closer to an agreement to end the war in Ukraine. "I think we're closer now than we have been ever."
"We had a very good conversation an hour ago with the European leaders, many of them, involving the war with Russia and Ukraine. We had a long discussion and things are seemingly going well, but we've been saying that for a long time." - Trump said.
Trump also noted that his team has had many conversations with Putin. Meanwhile, he emphasised that his representatives are receiving significant support from European leaders who want to end the war.
