US discusses peace guarantees, post-conflict recovery with Ukraine
![]() 888 Monday, 22 December, 2025, 10:23 Representatives from the United States and Ukraine met in Miami to discuss security guarantees for Kyiv and the country’s economic recovery after the end of the conflict as part of a peace plan with Russia promoted by Washington “Over the last three days in Florida, the Ukrainian delegation held a series of productive and constructive meetings with American and European partners,” US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff wrote on X. “A separate constructive meeting was also held in a U.S.–Ukraine format, during which four key documents were focused on: further development of a 20-point plan, aligning positions on a Multilateral security guarantee framework, aligning positions on a US Security guarantee framework for Ukraine, and further development on an economic and prosperity plan,” he added. According to the US president’s envoy, “particular attention was given to discussing timelines and the sequencing of next steps.” Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, met over the weekend in Miami with the Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Andriy Hnatov. |
