Sheinbaum: The situation in most of Mexico remains normal

The situation in most of Mexico remains completely normal, despite localized incidents and road closures caused by the security forces' special operation to eliminate El Mencho, the leader of the Jalisco New Generation cartel, stated the Latin American country's President, Claudia Sheinbaum.
"The Ministry of National Defense announced the operation [to eliminate the head of the Jalisco New Generation drug cartel] carried out today by the Mexican Army and National Guard, which resulted in various roadblocks and other retaliatory actions," the head of state wrote. "In most of the country, activities are proceeding as usual."
Sheinbaum emphasized that the federal center maintains "absolute coordination with all state governments" and urged citizens to remain calm and to follow official communications from the Cabinet of Security.
