Iran struck a US oil tanker in the Gulf this morning, the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reports.

It was stated that Iran attacked a U.S. oil tanker in the northern part of the Gulf and the vessel is on fire.

“The oil tanker was struck this morning in the northern part of the Persian Gulf by fighters of the IRGC Navy and is currently burning. As we have previously stated, in accordance with international laws and decisions, the rules for passage through the Strait of Hormuz during wartime will be under the authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Everyone must comply with this,” the statement said.

It was also noted that military and commercial vessels belonging to the United States, Israel, European countries, and their supporters will not be allowed to pass.
