Student protests and brawls in the Turkish parliament

Students in various cities in Turkey continue to protest against the current government.
Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, who was arrested yesterday, in turn, spread a new message on social media, noting that “nothing can stand in the way of solidarity and hope.”
“We are fighting for our children, for rights, for law, for justice, for a bright future,” the mayor wrote.
Imamoglu called on Turkey’s judicial authorities “not to turn a blind eye to injustice.”
“You must stand up and take action against a group of your colleagues who have destroyed the Turkish judicial system, disgraced us around the world, and destroyed our reputation,” the opposition politician wrote.
At the same time, it is reported that a fight broke out in the Turkish parliament between representatives of President Erdogan’s party and supporters of the opposition Republican People’s Party.
According to press reports, security forces are seeking permission from Erdogan to storm the Istanbul City Hall building, which has become a gathering place for the opposition.
