Israel and Turkey failed to reach an agreement in Baku
![]() 372 Friday, 11 April, 2025, 12:27 Israel and Turkey failed to reach an agreement to prevent tensions between the two countries in Syria during talks in Baku, the Israeli state broadcaster Kan reported. According to the broadcaster, the talks, during which the Israeli and Turkish sides are trying to agree on creating a mechanism to prevent conflicts between them in Syria, should continue after the end of the Jewish holiday of Passover, which in 2024 will be celebrated from April 12 to 19. Kan also claims that Turkey refused to allow an Israeli Air Force plane carrying the Israeli delegation to fly through its airspace on its way to Azerbaijan. As a result, the aircraft was forced to fly west of Turkey over the Black Sea. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on April 9 that Ankara does not intend to enter into conflict with any country, including Israel, over Syria. At the same time, he considered the Jewish state's actions against Damascus, where the Israeli Air Force constantly strikes various military targets, unacceptable. |
