According to Zelensky, they discussed, among other issues, the results of the third round of direct talks between Moscow and Kiev in Istanbul on July 23. “We are waiting for a response to our proposal to hold a meeting at the highest level by the end of August. European representatives should be present,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram. In addition, the two presidents discussed France’s military assistance to Ukraine, in particular the supply of additional missiles for the SAMP/T and Crotale anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as financing for the production of Ukrainian UAVs. “I confirmed France’s support: we will continue to increase assistance to Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia. Russia must finally agree to a ceasefire that will pave the way for long-term peace talks with the participation of Europeans,” Macron wrote on X. |
