Christian preacher and American pastor of the Evangelical Church, Joel Tenney, published a list of missing persons on the Armenian side before the Trump-Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting in Washington. Addressing Prime Minister Pashinyan, Tenney wrote on his Facebook page, in particular:
"Many are awaiting your visit with great anticipation. Our President is very direct and committed to seeing true peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan. During the campaign, I personally briefed him on the situation Armenia was facing at the time, including the blockade at Berdzor, the war of 2020, and other critical developments. While diplomacy is often promoted as the preferred path, it is not always President Trump’s way, nor is it mine. At times, “diplomacy” is used as a cover for fear, and weakness. With all due respect, I offer the following recommendation: Approach the table with humility, but be firm and unwavering. From the outset, your demands must be clearly stated. These should include: • The immediate release of political and civilian prisoners still held in Baku. • Full disclosure on the status and whereabouts of missing Armenian persons whether deceased or still held in captivity. Among the names of concern: 1. Aren Abrahamyan (b. 2001) 2. Narek Avagyan (b. 1997) 3. Arman Avagyan (b. 2001) 4. Artur Avetisyan (b. 1975) 5. Robert Aghayan (b. 1992) 6. Erik Arstamyan (b. 1981) 7. Artur Babayan (b. 1999) 8. Karen Baghyan (b. 1998) 9. Mikael Beglaryan (b. 1963) 10. Aslan Voskanian (b. 1982) 11. Yeghishe Mnatsakanyan (b. 1990) 12. Lernik Mnatsakanyan (b. 1989) 13. Armen Movsesyan (b. 1993) 14. Vahan Mikayelyan (b. 2001) 15. Zaven Hovsepyan (b. 1960) 16. Boris Hovsepyan (b. 1997) 17. Samvel Safaryan (b. 1994) 18. Sevak Sargsyan (b. 1975) 19. Nikolay Saghyan (b. 1959) 20. Arayik Sargsyan (b. 1996) 21. Narek Paramazyan (b. 1992) 22. Zaven Petrosyan (b. 1996) 23. Vladislav Petrosyan (b. 1997) In addition, national security guarantees must be part of the conversation. A stronger U.S. presence in Armenia is essential. Azerbaijan must be held accountable for its actions. It is my hope President Trump will call out Baku as the clear aggressor in this conflict, which many rightly recognize not as a “war” but as an act of genocide. I will continue to advocate for Armenia with all the strength and conviction God has given me. It stands next to the United States in my heart. For our family, Armenia feels like home.
