Negotiations in the "3+3" format (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia - Russia, Turkey, Iran) will become a more effective mechanism for resolving existing problems in the South Caucasus. This was stated by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, TASS reports.

"I believe that the "3+3" negotiations with the participation of Iran and Russia will become a more effective and efficient mechanism for resolving existing problems in the Caucasus region," Pezeshkian was quoted as saying by his press service.

Earlier, it was reported that the Iranian president had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, during which, among other issues, the developments taking place in the South Caucasus were discussed.
