Georgia has fully repaid its long-term debt to Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan

Georgia has fully repaid its long-term debt to Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. This is reported by TASS with reference to data from the Ministry of Finance of this post-Soviet country bordering the Russian Federation.
The materials on the national debt, which previously indicated $ 3.997 million in relation to Russia, now have a dash, the agency writes.
At the time of the settlement agreement in 2005, Tbilisi's debt to Moscow amounted to 158 million dollars, by 2013 it reached about 100 million dollars, and five years later — 61.4 million.
In the fall of 2024, Georgia's external public debt rose to a record $9.03 billion (now it stands at $9.09 billion), but Russia accounted for only $7.8 million of this amount.
At the moment, Paris is Tbilisi's key creditor. The debt owed to France is $850.9 million, or about 10 percent of its total amount.
