The leaders of the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) called for an easing of anti-Russian sanctions to resolve the food crisis. This is reported by Izvestia.

“The COVID-19 pandemic, disruptions to international supply chains, and the fallout from the Ukraine conflict have severely disrupted the interconnected markets for food, fuel and fertilizer,” the World Bank website says.

According to WFP, the number of severely food insecure people has increased to 345 million in 82 countries.

The lifting of Western sanctions against Russia and the introduction of more flexible supply processes will help solve the problem of food shortages, the heads of organizations are sure.
