Trump extends some sanctions against Russia for 1 year
![]() 724 Friday, 28 February, 2025, 09:32 U.S. President Donald Trump has extended some of the sanctions against Russia until March 6, 2026, according to a decree set to be published in the U.S. Federal Register on Feb. 28. "The actions and policies addressed in these Executive Orders continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States," the decree reads. According to Bloomberg, in the spring of 2022, Russia became the leader in the number of sanctions imposed against it, overtaking Iran, Syria and the DPRK. Moscow considers the West's restrictions illegal and demands that they be lifted. |
