Zelensky "confused roles" - Orban
![]() 552 Friday, 21 March, 2025, 10:14 Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticized the speech of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the European Union (EU) summit. The politician made the corresponding statement on March 20 in a video message on the Facebook social network. "The President of Ukraine confused the roles. He behaves as if Ukraine is in the European Union, and therefore can afford a sharper tone, although he cannot. He is a petitioner who wants to join the European Union," Orban said. He noted that Zelensky was clearly conducting a dialogue "not in a friendly manner." Orban also recalled the imminent holding of a vote among the population on whether to accept Ukraine into the EU or not. During his speech at the EU summit, the Ukrainian president called the blocking of decisions “that are important for the entire continent” “anti-European” actions. Recall that at the EU summit held yesterday, EU leaders were unable to reach an agreement on allocating 5 billion euros in aid to Ukraine. |
