The Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations has officially declared missing Russian climber Natalia Nagovitsyna, who was unable to move due to a broken leg and had been on the Pobeda peak at an altitude of about 7,200 meters since August 12. This was reported to TASS by the press secretary of the department, Adil Charigov.
“Yes, she was declared missing, because no one can officially confirm her life or death,” Charigov said.
The previous day, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs told TASS that a criminal case would be opened against the Ak-Sai Travel travel agency, which organized Nagovitsyna’s ascent. The agency itself hinted at her death, expressing condolences to her family and admitting that it was impossible to save the climber.
