Iran estimates damage from US-Israeli strikes at $270 billion
![]() 2608 Tuesday, 14 April, 2026, 17:02 Iran says preliminary estimates put the economic damage from strikes carried out by the United States and Israel at around $270 billion. Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said the figure is an initial assessment and could change, Russian media reports. She said the evaluation process is being conducted in several stages, beginning with an analysis of structural damage to buildings, followed by losses in state revenue and the impact of halted industrial activity. According to her, Iran’s negotiating team is addressing the issue of war reparations from the United States, which was discussed last week in Islamabad. Earlier, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei stressed that Tehran is demanding compensation for damage and civilian casualties, adding that Iran “did not seek and does not seek war,” but will not renounce its legitimate rights under any circumstances. |
