UN Secretary-General sends congratulatory message to RA Prime Minister

UN Secretary-General António Guterres sent a congratulatory message to Nikol Pashinyan on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
“Excellency,
Please accept my congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. The recent parliamentary elections, for which the United Nations provided technical support, marked an important milestone for the democratic development of Armenia, which I hope will see further progress in the spirit of inclusivity and transparency.
I am confident that under your leadership, Armenia will continue to uphold the principles and goals of the United Nations. As you proceed with the ambitious reform agenda, the United Nations looks forward to working closely with you and with your Government to implement the Sustainable Development Goals, and to strengthen the protection and promotion of human rights and the rule of law.
I would like to also use this opportunity to reaffirm that the United Nations stands ready to support the significant efforts of the Co-Chairmen of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in order to help the sides achieve peace in the long-standing Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
