All hostages freed from hijacked train in Pakistan

Security forces have neutralized all 33 attackers, Al Arabiya TV channel reported. According to the source, 21 hostages and four security personnel were killed during the rescue operation. At the moment, the injured and rescuers who arrived at the railway station in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, are receiving medical care. It is reported that Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will visit the province on Thursday. He called the attack a "coward step" and noted that such actions will not shake Pakistan's determination to strive for peace. Earlier, it was reported that an armed group attacked a train in Balochistan province and took 450 passengers hostage. The militants killed six Pakistani soldiers and promised to kill the hostages if Pakistani troops launched an operation against the Balochistan Liberation Army. At the same time, the group said it was ready to negotiate a prisoner exchange.  |
