Ukraine to allow men and women over 60 to serve in military service

The corresponding law was signed by the country's President Volodymyr Zelensky. 306 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of the bill. Earlier, deputy Irina Gerashchenko explained that the document will allow conscription into military service of people over 60 years of age. "Men and women who reach the age of 60 during the period of martial law will be able to enter into a contract for military service," the document says. The contract will be signed if the candidate is recognized as fit for service. The law provides for a two-month probationary period, during which the candidate's compliance with the requirements for military service is checked. |
