The aim of the US military's strikes on the territory of Yemen were drones and Houthi missiles. On January 12, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who is in the hospital, told about this.
His statement was published on the Pentagon's website. Along with drones, cruise and ballistic missiles, Washington attacked coastal radar stations and other technical means of reconnaissance of the rebels, Austin said. According to him, in this way the United States intended to reduce the Houthis' ability to threaten international trade and navigation in the Red Sea.
