The entry into force of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and Iran will have a positive impact on cooperation between Tehran and Moscow, the two countries are developing their relations despite pressure, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
“We are convinced that the entry into force of this historic document will have the most positive impact on our cooperation, both on the bilateral agenda and in the international arena. Our political dialogue is extremely rich. The presidents have met three times recently,” Lavrov said after talks with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.
According to Lavrov, Russian-Iranian relations are of a special nature.

“These relations continue to develop dynamically, despite the very difficult situation in the region and the world, and despite attempts to put pressure on our countries,” Lavrov emphasized.

The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and Iran was signed on January 17, 2025, during the visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Moscow. According to the document, the parties will strive to deepen and expand relations in all areas of mutual interest.
