Zelensky will attend the Pope's funeral, Putin will not

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is likely to attend the funeral of Pope Francis, RBC Ukraine reports.
According to the source, the Ukrainian presidential office is preparing for the ceremony of his visit.
After the death of the Pope, Zelensky said on the X social network that “He knew how to inspire hope and prayed for peace in Ukraine. We mourn with the Catholic world and all Christians who relied on the spiritual support of Pope Francis. Eternal memory,” Zelensky wrote.
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov, according to RBC, said that Putin does not plan to attend the funeral of Pope Francis.
“No, the president has no such plans,” Peskov said.
When asked who will travel from Russia to the Vatican, Putin’s spokesman replied that the decision has not yet been made.
Yesterday, Putin sent a telegram of condolences on the death of Pope Francis.
“I have had the opportunity to communicate with this outstanding person many times and will forever retain the brightest memories of him,” Putin wrote.
