Political commentator Hakob Badalyan's Telegram post:

"It seems that there has been no response yet in Armenia regarding the "editing" made by the EU observation mission in connection with their post in X. Why was the term "Armenian Genocide" changed to "Victims of 1915-1923"? There is a significant nuance here. If the European Parliament and the leading EU countries had not recognized the Armenian genocide, it would, in a way, be understandable or conceivable that they initially wrote "genocide," and later adjusted the statement to align with political considerations. On the other hand, that's essentially what happened here. Today, the political situation is such that the EU needs Turkey, perhaps more than ever. Therefore, they preferred not to create unnecessary tension with the EU observer mission's statement in Armenia. This indicates how relations are practically working, and how unrealistic the conclusions are that the European Union could be a guarantor of Armenia's security. A few days ago, I made another post regarding the U.S. statement that the United States can no longer be the sole guarantor of Europe's security. You can find the post on Telegram by scrolling up a little. If the United States can no longer be the sole guarantor of Europe's security, then Europe itself cannot be the security guarantor for any other direction, given its own security guarantee gap. And to fill that gap, Turkey's importance for Europe rises. It is necessary to assess calmly, without emotions, without the dominance of sympathies or antipathies, and without illusions. Calm, balanced assessments allow for finding the most effective, optimal, realistic, and publicly more understandable and perceptible options and models for the necessary actions."
