Reuters: European Commission proposes to disconnect four Russian banks from SWIFT

Representatives of the 27 countries of the European Union will discuss a new package of sanctions against Russia in Brussels, which may include the SWIFT disconnection of several Russian banks. Reuters.
““The Commission has recommended that four more Russian banks, including EU-exclusive Alfa-Bank, Tinkoff Internet bank and commercial lender Rosbank, be disconnected from the SWIFT international payment system” – Two diplomats who wanted to remain anonymous told the publication. The EU is also considering restrictions on some dual-use electronic components that Russia can use in drones, missiles and helicopters. In addition, Reuters writes that for the first time in history, Iranian economic operators who allegedly supplied weapons to Russia could also be subject to sanctions.
According to the source, Russian rubber and asphalt will fall under the import sanctions. The Arabic service Russia Today will be banned from broadcasting in the EU, restrictions on imports into Russia of electronic circuits, thermal cameras, steel and aluminum used in construction, industry and construction equipment will be tightened.
