Electoral reform in New Caledonia is suspended, says French President

France has suspended a planned electoral reform in its overseas territory of New Caledonia which triggered civil unrest on the Indo-Pacific archipelago last month, President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday.
"The constitutional project on the electorate in New Caledonia has been suspended," Macron told reporters.
