7.6 magnitude earthquake strikes Turkey

An earthquake of magnitude 7.6 was recorded in the central part of Turkey. This is reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC). The epicenter of the tremors was located 27 km from the city of Gaziantep, whose population exceeds one million people. The source lay at a depth of 10 km. In mid-January, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 was recorded in Turkey. It was also reported that an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred off the coast of Chile
