Over 500 children killed, 1,000 more wounded as a result of Russia’s war in Ukraine – UN

This was stated by UNICEF Executive Director Katharine Russell, citing data from the United Nations Children’s Fund. According to her, the actual number of children affected may be much higher. She called this fact a tragic milestone and added that children and families in Ukraine are paying the highest price for this brutal war. – “Behind every number is a torn family that has been changed forever. This is heartbreaking,” emphasized Catherine Russell. Earlier, the UN released estimates of civilian casualties of Russia’s war against Ukraine. According to UN estimates, from February 24 to April 2, 2023, 8,451 civilians were killed and another 14,156 were injured. The UN emphasized that the actual number could be much higher. |
