#Coronavirus vaccine needs another $ 2 billion – #WB

One to one and a half years and an additional $ 2 billion are needed to develop a vaccine against coronavirus. This is stated in a statement by the leadership of the World Bank.
"To develop three vaccines against coronavirus over the next 12-18 months, $ 2 billion in additional funding will be needed. This amount does not include the cost of manufacturing and shipping the vaccine," the statement said.
It is noted that simply additional funding is not enough for the vaccine to be used effectively.
"We need to create an equitable global distribution system to ensure that all countries, including the poorest, have equal access to the vaccine after its manufacture," the bank emphasized.
Currently, there are 120 projects in the world to find an effective vaccine against coronavirus, of which eight are at the stage of clinical trials involving humans.
