![]() 2331 Tuesday, 16 April, 2019, 16:45 The third largest medieval fortress in Armenia and one of the largest in the Caucasus, Dashtadem fortress traces the history of the region from at least the eighth century BC, when the Urartians controlled a vast empire. Since 2013 the U.S. Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation has provided more than $240,000 to preserve this remarkable site, which is now a tourist destination, attracting more and more visitors.
