5 people dead in stabbing attack at Sydney mall

A horrific stabbing attack unfolded in a Sydney shopping center on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of at least five people and the suspect, while leaving several others injured, including a small child, according to police reports.
The chaos erupted when a lone assailant began indiscriminately stabbing shoppers in the mall, targeting nine people before being confronted by a police inspector who fatally shot him, said Assistant Police Commissioner Anthony Cooke in a press briefing.
